Headaches can have many different causes, including tension in the muscles of the neck and shoulders, poor posture, misalignment of the spine, stress, poor sleep patterns etc.

Acute or long standing issues caused by whiplash or shoulder injury or tensions within the jaw and skull can also contribute to headaches.

Concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a bump or jolt to the head. Symptoms can include  dizziness, headaches, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating, light and noise sensitivity.

Osteopaths use a hands-on approach to help restore balance and function to the body. Specifically, osteopathic treatment for concussion may involve:

Cranial osteopathy: This technique involves gentle manipulation of the skull and cranial sutures to help improve circulation and drainage of cerebrospinal fluid. This can help reduce swelling and inflammation in the brain.

Soft tissue mobilization: Osteopaths may use massage and stretching techniques to help release tension and improve circulation in the muscles and soft tissues surrounding the head and neck.
